Vernon Adams
Vernon Adams (1967–2016) was an English type designer who made open-source typefaces. He earned an MA in typeface design from the University of Reading, lived in San Clemente, California, and published his fonts through his New Typography site and Google Fonts, where 51 of his families are available. His work includes Oswald, a reworking of the Alternate Gothic style released in 2011, and Oxygen, the user-interface font of the KDE desktop.
He was badly injured in a scooter accident in 2014 and died on 24 August 2016. MV Oswald pairs his Latin Oswald with Thaana glyphs added by Hassan Hameed in 2018.
